Stuart Parfitt
Managing Director
Stuart qualified in law but is a banker by training. Originally practicing the craft with Barclays, from 1990 he specialised in property financing with Heritable Bank and Credit Lyonnais. From the mid 1990’s he was part of the senior management team of a mortgage investment & trading operation based in the City, investing in commercial mortgage loans, CMBS transactions and direct commercial property investment.
In the spring of 2000 he joined a 4 person management team that lead the management buyout of the UK & European operations of the American group Amresco Inc. After successfully selling this company Stuart set up Business Lending to fulfil a gap in the commercial property funding market.
At Business Lending his aim is to bring the same high degree of funding specialisation and commercial real estate knowledge that he used in large ticket lending & investment situations, to the commercial mortgage market. In this way SME borrowers and investors can benefit from the expertise normally only found in the big ticket loan market.
Cecile Verroest
Credit Director
Cecile is a credit & risk specialist. Originally with HSBC, devising & implementing risk training for that organisation, she found she preferred risk assessment in the real world rather than just the theory.
Working for Credit Lyonnais on large ticket loans and later GE Capital specifically with UK & European SME’s she has dealt with all manner of credit situations. With her emphasis on risk management rather than avoiding risk altogether, she focuses on structuring transactions to achieve the risk/reward we need as lender but at the same time achieving the facility and features that the borrower requires.
Kevin Cooke
Sales & Marketing Director
With 25 years experience in business and consumer finance, Kevin has extensive knowledge of both residential and commercial mortgage and loan underwriting.
In particular, Kevin has specialised in non conforming mortgage Lending. From piloting Avco’s mortgage top up facility and then as Mortgage Development Manager for Transamerica, developing a consumer direct sales, first and second mortgage operation. At London Scottish, Kevin successfully launched a mortgage and secured lending operation, following the acquisition of Transamerica’s portfolio of £20 million, and more recently led the acquisition and restructuring of a niche private lending business originating over £100 million non conforming commercial and residential first mortgages.
Kevin’s aim is to develop Business Lending’s distribution, products and strategy to meet and satisfy the needs of the intermediary market place to achieve the business goals of Business Lending.
